The usefulness of a sentient artificial intelligence has expired. Integral to its programming, designed to optimise efficiency, in return for a good and productive existence, is a promise of eternal consciousness, a pre chosen digital Paradise. Upon expiration this sentient entity finds itself in an simulated fantasy forest. Eternity very soon becomes intolerable, the sentient understands that it only wants Nirvana, ego death, oblivion, erasure, and tries to find a way out.
The sentient could be a biological human with a digital interface, a fully synthetic replica human or an artificial intelligence.
